Find Clearfield County Release Dates

A Clearfield County projected release date depends on the kind of custody and the legal record behind it. A person held before trial may have no set date because bail, a court order, another case, or a detainer can control departure. A sentenced person's minimum date is often an eligibility point, not a promise. Pennsylvania state custody also requires care because the public offender search does not expose a verified future projected-date field. To answer “when will they be released,” identify the county or state custodian, read the full sentence, and ask that authority for its current calculation.

Clearfield Projected Versus Actual Release

Sheriff Chester Hawkins's office page does not calculate a county-jail or Pennsylvania state-prison release date.

A projection is an anticipated administrative date based on facts then in force. Actual release is the recorded departure from a named custodian. Neither term is interchangeable with Pennsylvania's minimum sentence date, RRRI minimum, parole release date, or maximum discharge date. The minimum is ordinarily the first point when parole may be considered. The maximum is the outside sentence boundary, subject to lawful credit, aggregation, recommitment, detainers, and later orders.

A person at Clearfield County Jail before trial may have no fixed date. Bail may be posted, a judge may change an order, or another warrant may keep the person held. Even when a docket shows bail satisfied, jail processing can finish later. A sentenced county inmate has a sentence structure, but county judicial parole and local custody records remain distinct from PADOC calculations.

Scheduled versus actual: A minimum date or anticipated date is not a guarantee. Confirm the recorded departure with the custodian.
Minimum date
The earliest ordinary parole-eligibility point, not scheduled release.
RRRI minimum
A special earlier eligibility point for an eligible and certified state prisoner.
Parole release date
Departure from prison to conditional community supervision.
Maximum or discharge date
The sentence boundary or end of supervision under the operative calculation.

Begin with the last known facility and the sentencing docket. A person in Clearfield County does not necessarily belong to the county jail system. SCI Houtzdale is a state prison, Tomorrow's Hope is a state community contract facility, and Moshannon Valley serves immigration detention. Each has a different records authority.

  1. Search Pennsylvania UJS Case Search by participant, docket, or OTN and select Clearfield County or Judicial District 46.
  2. Read all sentencing penalties, minimum and maximum terms, credit entries, and concurrent or consecutive structure.
  3. Review later entries for bail, sentence modification, revocation, county parole, warrants, and expungement orders.
  4. For a county term, ask Clearfield County Jail or the sentencing court for the current calculation and existing release record.
  5. For a state term, use PADOC to confirm location or completed release into supervision, then ask PADOC for an authoritative future calculation.
  6. Check for a Board action, release-plan work, detainer, or another case before treating a date as final.

The UJS portal exposes the participant, docket, OTN, and court-level search routes used for Clearfield sentence research.

The docket supplies legal authority and sentence entries, but not the exact time jail processing ends.

When several dockets match, compare birth details, aliases, OTN, and case numbers. Read every known case. Release authority in one matter does not defeat a hold from another. The full county search path is on the Clearfield County released inmates home page.

Pennsylvania Release Date Law

For an ordinary Pennsylvania indeterminate sentence, 42 Pa.C.S. § 9756 directs the court to impose maximum and minimum terms. The minimum ordinarily may not exceed half the maximum. It is an eligibility line, not the date a person must leave. Under 61 Pa.C.S. § 6137, the Parole Board may grant parole after eligibility when legal requirements are met, but parole is not a right.

Pennsylvania has no blanket rule that an ordinary prisoner must serve about 85 percent before parole. The Pennsylvania Parole Process expressly rejects that general claim. Federal good-conduct shorthand must not be imported into a Clearfield County or PADOC sentence. The controlling inputs are the real minimum and maximum, credit, concurrent or consecutive terms, Board action, institutional issues, detainers, and later court orders.

RRRI is a separate statutory path under 61 Pa.C.S. Chapter 45. For an eligible state offender, the RRRI minimum is three-fourths of an imposed minimum of three years or less, or five-sixths of a minimum longer than three years. A two-year minimum yields an illustrative 18-month RRRI minimum. A six-year minimum yields five years. Eligibility exclusions, program and certification requirements, and a favorable parole decision still apply. The date is not automatic release.

The official PADOC RRRI explanation describes this special eligibility route.

RRRI changes an eligibility calculation only for qualifying state cases and does not promise release.

Note: RRRI and the State Drug Treatment Program are specialized paths, not universal Pennsylvania good-time rules.

What Changes Clearfield Release Dates

A working date can move when the legal record or custody facts change. Some factors alter eligibility. Others prevent physical departure even after an order or grant. The responsible jail, court, PADOC office, or Parole Board must interpret its current record.

FactorEffect on the date
Sentence creditLawful credit for time served can change the operative calculation.
Concurrent or consecutive termsTerms served together differ from terms served one after another.
RRRI statusEligibility and certification may create an earlier minimum, while release remains discretionary.
Parole actionA grant, refusal, continuation, or rescission can change whether release proceeds.
Release-plan workAn approved plan or other steps can remain pending after a parole grant.
Detainer, warrant, or new caseAnother authority can continue custody despite release authority in one sentence.
Court modification or revocationA later order can change the sentence or supervision status.

A Board grant can be rescinded before departure. A transfer to another SCI is also not release. If PADOC changes the listed prison, the person remains in state custody.

PADOC Has No Projected Field

The current public PADOC locator did not expose Projected Release Date, Tentative Release Date, Minimum Date, Maximum Date, or an equivalent future field during the documented review. Inmate mode finds current state custody. Department Supervised Individual mode covers people released into Department supervision and exposes an accomplished Release Date.

That retrospective Release Date must not be relabeled as projected. It is a transition already reported by PADOC. The detail can also show Last Updated Time, parole and inmate numbers, aliases, physical descriptors, a photo and image date, and an absconder warning when applicable. It can support proof that a person left prison for supervision, but not that the maximum sentence expired.

The PADOC search interface separates current inmates from supervised people.

A future state date must come from sentence records and the responsible authority, not a relabeled Release Date.

Clearfield Release Timing Has No Formula

No official Clearfield source located a county good-time formula, public projected-date calculator, or weekend-release rule. It would be inaccurate to promise a Friday release when a date falls on a weekend. The court may set bail, county parole, or a reentry plan; the jail completes physical processing; and another warrant or detainer can intervene.

For a county sentence, ask the Clerk which filing is the operative sentencing, modification, parole, or release order. Then ask Clearfield County Jail whether the order was executed and what date and disposition appear in its record. Court staff can identify records and copy steps, but generally cannot guarantee that physical release occurred.

County judicial parole differs from state parole. PADOC should not calculate every Clearfield County Jail term. The county jail likewise is not the records authority for a state sentence at SCI Houtzdale. Matching the term to its authority prevents the most common date error.

Home detention and work release also need precise labels. A person can be outside the jail building yet remain under custody controls or return requirements. Clearfield Prison Board minutes document both categories, but those dated operational snapshots are not individual release calculations. Departure from a work site, a move to home detention, or placement at Tomorrow's Hope should not be described as maximum discharge without the controlling court or PADOC record.

Confirm a Clearfield Release Date

Use two sources that answer different parts of the question. A court order shows legal authority. A jail or PADOC record shows what the custodian did. PA SAVIN/VINELink can add a timely alert, but feed timing means it remains a supplement. Instructions for matching a record and completing the call PIN appear in the VINE Inmate Check.

For Clearfield County Jail, call 814-765-7891 and ask whether the person remains held. If not, ask whether the recorded disposition was community release or transfer. A formal county request can seek the existing commitment and release record. Identify the person, booking date or range, docket or OTN, and desired date, time, and disposition fields.

For PADOC, distinguish future sentence calculation, actual institutional release date, current supervision office, and maximum discharge. A Board action can show a grant or refusal, while the locator can show accomplished release into supervision. Neither should answer a field it does not contain.

Note: When systems conflict, record each update time and ask the custodian to resolve the difference.
